He knew brother Joseph

Alexander accepted brother Joseph's message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and was baptized in 1837, during the church's infancy. Joseph, Alexander's second child and my 2nd maternal great grandfather, was named for (and by) brother Joseph. Alexander accepted the hardships that came with standing to defend the faith of this restored Church. He loved brother Joseph and served the people who accepted this message.
